Eligibility
- Must be a current CSUSM employee or a former administrator or faculty having been granted Emeritus status upon retirement
- Must have physical or digital CSUSM ID
Loan Limits
- May have up to 100 items checked out at any given time
Requesting Items
- May request items from the CSUSM general collection
- May request items from other CSU collections (CSU+)
- May request items from library collections worldwide through Interlibrary Loan(ILL)
Loan Periods
- CSU General Collection materials - 365 days
- CSUSM Library Equipment – varies from 3 hours to 1 day based on the type of equipment
- CSUSM Game Collection – 3 weeks
- CSUSM Library Reserves – varies from 2 hours to 3 weeks based on the loan period assigned.
- CSU+ items - 16 weeks
- Interlibrary Loan – varies based on the lending library
Renewals
- CSUSM General Collection – one 365-day renewal
- CSUSM Library Equipment – no renewals
- CSUSM Game Collection – no renewals
- CSUSM Library Reserves – no renewals
- CSU+ items – no renewals
- Interlibrary Loan – varies based on the lending library
Overdue, Lost, & Damaged Items
Overdues
CSUSM Employees do not accrue overdue fines but should be mindful of upcoming due dates to ensure accessibility of library items to other users.
Lost/Billed and Damaged Items*
Overdue items are billed and considered “lost” 14 days after due date.
- CSUSM General Collection – actual replacement cost
- CSUSM Library Equipment – actual replacement cost
- CSUSM Game Collection – actual replacement cost
- CSUSM Library Reserves – actual replacement cost
- CSU+ items – $90 lost replacement
- Interlibrary Loan – $90 lost replacement
*In some situations, a replacement copy may be accepted in lieu of the replacement cost, check with the Library Circulation Desk
Paying Fines and Fees
- All payments for library fines must be made online.
