The University Library at California State University San Marcos is committed to protecting and preserving student privacy. Personal data collected by the Library for identification and authentication of users and to track library related activities will be collected and accessed in accordance with relevant CSU, state, and federal policies and laws.
In addition, the University Library aims to use data in accordance with professional standards, such as those statements and policies found in the American Library Association’s Privacy and Confidentiality: Library Core Values. Personally-identifiable information is not actively shared, other than as required by the CSU, or by laws that guarantee public access to certain types of information, or in response to subpoenas or other legal instruments that authorize access. In particular, we do not re-distribute or sell personal information.
The Library's website contains links to resources owned and operated by third parties, including databases and electronic journals. While every attempt is made to include user information protections in license agreements with these third parties, use of these websites and resources is not governed by this Privacy Statement.
