For Faculty: Place Items on Reserve

There are two types of reserves the Library makes available to faculty. Depending on the type of material you have, we can recommend the best option.

Traditional Reserve

Supplemental materials placed in the library for access by CSUSM students.  These materials are in high demand by a large number of students, therefore the loan period is limited to:  2 hours, 1 day, or 3 days.  Traditional reserve materials are located at the third floor check out desk.

To check-out traditional reserve material students must have a current CSUSM identification card with a library barcode.  A maximum of 2 traditional reserve items may be checked out to a student at one time.  Late fees will accumulate if materials are not returned at the specified time or date.

Electronic Reserve (ERes)

Allows 24 hour access to materials online.  Journal articles, book chapters, class notes, exams, lectures, etc. are transferred to a password protected course page.  For more information please read the faculty reserves guidelines and FAQ.
