As part of the Library Technology Initiatives and Development (LTID) Team, User Experience (UX) at the University Library is dedicated to meaningfully addressing the needs of our library user groups by working collaboratively with user research and design methods. This can include interviews, usability testing, surveys, focus groups, and field observations.
Led by our User Experience Librarian, our mission is to incorporate co-creation and a diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility lens to the UX design process. This encompasses the Library’s physical and digital spaces.
The following are groups and initiatives that support UX in the Library:
Student Advisory Board (SAB)
This is a group of CSUSM students and library employees that work together to improve student experiences of library services, technology, collections, and spaces (physical and virtual).
Digital User Experience Strategy (DUXS) Committee
This group is composed of members of LTID with representatives from other library departments. We work together to create, maintain, and assess all of the Library’s public facing online content.
