Public Use of Computers & Printing

The CSUSM University Library primarily provides computer workstations to support the scholarly activities of CSUSM faculty, students and staff. Therefore, priority use of library computer workstations is for those doing scholarly research.

Visitors may use the designated guest workstation on the 2nd Floor, located in Media Services. This workstation does not require login credentials, is intended for quick use, and provides basic Internet access to the library's electronic resources. Software applications, including Microsoft Office, are not available to visitors due to licensing restrictions. However you may use free web-based services such as Google Docs. It is recommended that users bring a USB flash drive for saving documents.

Community users are also welcome to bring their own laptops and use the CSUSM wireless network.

Community users may print from designated computers or personal devices using Web Print. A guest printing account is required and users may add money to their guest printing account using cash or a debit/credit card. Printing costs $0.12 per page for black and white, $0.25 per page for color.

Library users may seek assistance from Research Help on the 3rd floor or the Student Technology Help Desk on the 2nd floor. General questions regarding printing should be directed to the Student Technology Help Desk at (760)750-6505.

All library users are expected to adhere to the University Library Policy on Appropriate Use of Computer Workstations.
