Meet the Artist, Salvador de la Torre

Location: At the Makery, University Library 2nd floor
Join the University Library in welcoming Salvador de la Torre for an in-person discussion where they will go over the significance and meaning behind their collection, Impresiones.
Salvador de la Torre is a Mexican born Texas raised artist, storyteller, and educator, whose artwork intricately and expertly reflects their intersectional identities and positionality within society. De la Torre's collection, impresiones, is currently on display and can be seen in the University Library's third floor exhibit space from August 26th - December 15th.
Printmaking Workshop with Salvador de la Torre
Date and Time: Tuesday, October 1st, 1pm - 2:30pm
Location: At the Makery, University Library 2nd floor
Join the University Library in a printmaking workshop led by artist and educator Salvador de la Torre. Participants will brainstorm and sketch words, phrases, symbols, and images that resonate with their own identity, and ultimately go home with a 4 x 6 print. As participants are working, de la Torre will share more about their exhibition, impresiones, and lead a talk surrounding identity and self-acceptance.
The event is free for CSUSM students, but there is limited space with a capacity of 25 participants.
