Description

This is a newly created illustration poster to enter Graphic's "United with Ukraine Posters" competition. It’s such a tragedy to hear about the war in Ukraine. Russia’s attack broke so many Ukrainian families and ruined their lives; it’s unforgivable! I have my deepest sympathy for Ukrainian! My goal is to support Ukraine in this unprecedented war through my art.

My approach in creating this illustration is to demonize Russia through metaphor. The sunflower is a symbol of peace and has always been the national flower of Ukraine. In this illustration, I turned the Russian army into a vicious caterpillar eating off a sunflower. Through this imagery, I want to magnify the wrongdoing of Putin's Russian army and bring more sympathy and support to Ukraine.

This is a personal work created to support Ukraine in this unprecedented war.
