Prior to attending the event, students and faculty may want to review the timeline “Black Lives Matter: Continuing the Civil Rights Movement”. The civil unrest in Ferguson follows a long history of black activism in the United States; this timeline will provide students with the complex background of the fight towards racial equality that is still ongoing today.
This film screening, co-sponsered by the USU, is part of CSUSM’s 2017-18 Common Read, Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
