Library Exhibition and Event

The Context Library Series is pleased to present Realms of Appropriation: Interactive textile works by Daniel Barron Corrales. San Diego-based artist Corrales has created a body of work that explores color, textures, and interaction through a series of textile sculptures. Corrales uses textile as his media of choice because of its amorphous nature, its resilience and ability to be reset. Realms of Appropriation is constructed entirely using byproducts of the fashion and textile design industries, resulting in a dynamic experience that evolves with physical interaction. Ultimately the work explores the infinite collaborative potential through the hands of others.

Meet-and-greet artist Daniel Barron Corrales on April 18, 2017, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, in the University Library Gallery. Realms of Appropriation will be on display March 1 – July 1, 2017, free and open to the public all library hours.
