Fall 2017 Exhibition

The CSUSM Black Student Center and Context Library Series is pleased to present Revolutionary Grain: Celebrating the Spirit of the Black Panthers in Portraits and Stories. Documentary photographer Suzun Lucia Lamaina spent five years traveling throughout the United States chronicling the lives of more than 50 former Black Panther Party Members. This exhibition commemorates the humanity and legacy of the Black Panther movement through powerful portraits and narratives originally published in Lamaina’s Revolutionary Grain book.

Meet photographer Suzun Lucia Lamaina and former Black Panther Party members at a reception and lecture on Wednesday, September 20 at the University Student Union Ballroom. Reception begins at 6pm with the panel discussion starting at 7pm. The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP.

The exhibition will be on display in the Kellogg Library Gallery,  August 20 – December 20, 2017. Free and open to the public during all library hours.
