Black Lives Matter: An evening with co-founder Alicia Garza

Wednesday, November 29, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Tickets available via CSUSM Arts & Lectures Series
CSUSM Students: FREE
Community: $10
Faculty/Staff/Alumni: $5

Alicia Garza will share the story of transforming a Twitter hashtag into a national organization and a global rights movement. Understanding the Black Lives Matter movement within its larger political, social, and cultural landscape is critically important and relevant as CSUSM engages with the local community on intersectional issues of race, class, citizenship, and policing. This event will foster local and campus dialogues, and amplify the ways everyday people can most effectively enact social change.
