Beyond the Stereotype: There is Pride

The Context Library Series is pleased to welcome back the Beyond the Stereotype campaign, which aims to educate the public and campus community about the impact of microaggressions and stereotypes on marginalized communities. Now in this second series, Beyond the Stereotype: There is Pride is designed to foster understanding and empathy toward the LGBTQA community. This exhibit and panel discussion encourages complex and authentic conversations regarding sexual orientation, gender diversity, and intersectionality. It ensures that students, staff, and faculty see themselves reflected across campus and encourages critical conversations by giving the CSUSM community a platform to share experiences and speak out against discrimination.

The posters will be on exhibit in the University Library Gallery (3rd floor) until December 17, 2018. Free and open to the public during all library hours.

This campaign is led by the CSUSM Office of Inclusive Excellence in partnership with the Gender Equity Center and the LGBTQA Pride Center. The first Beyond the Stereotype campaign focused on the topic of cultural appropriation; posters from that campaign can be viewed on the 3rd floor of the CSUSM University Student Union.
