BIOL 212 - Background Info
Encyclopedias are a great starting point when you unfamiliar with a topic to get a general overview and a list of references for more information on your topic. They help you come up with keywords and synonyms for your evidence search.
Wikipedia is an okay place to start and you can look at the entry citations. However, don't cite it in your paper as a credible source.
