Reserve Policies

Who can borrow

Course reserve materials are for currently registered CSUSM students only. A library card with a current validation sticker is required to check out Reserve material.

Borrower's record must be cleared of all overdue materials and fines of more than $5.00.

Limit

A maximum of 2 Reserve items per student may be checked out at one time.

Loan Periods

Instructors set the loan periods for all the materials on reserve. The Reserve desk cannot place materials on hold or on a waiting list.

2 Hours

Item is due 2 hours from the time checked out. Material which is checked out within the last 2 hours Reserves is open will be due at closing time.

1 Day

Item is due before closing time on the next day.

3 Days

Item is due before closing on the third day after being checked out.

Overdue Fines

2 Hour Items

$1.00 for each hour or portion of the hour with a maximum fine of $25.00 per item

1 Day Items

$1.00 for per day or portion of the hour with a maximum fine of $25.00 per item.

3 Day Items

$1.00 for per day or portion of the hour with a maximum fine of $25.00 per item.

Renewals

Reserves may not be renewed; they may be checked out again, if they are available, after a 15 minute waiting period.
